A couple of days ago me and my family attended the wedding of my father's cousing. The party was great and we had a lot of fun. Until 4am in the morning.
Even my sister (who is 4yo) lasted until about about 3am. AND she had a date. Talk about partying young.
Needless to say, when we crashed at 4:30am, we were absolutely drained. I nearly missed the bed, and seriously considered the idea of sleeping without changing my clothes.
When I finally hit the bed, I fell asleep almost instantly. Based on the rule of 8 hours of sleep per night (which I never respect, since I sleep either 6-7 hours or close to 10) , I should have woken up at about 1pm. Not the case.
My internal clock seemed to say "Hey, I don't care you just got to sleep, I really need to wake you up at he usual hour". So at 9am I opened my eyes. Angry, moody and close to killing somebody - not enough sleep can do that to you.
For the sake of everyone around me, I went back to sleep, and the next thing I know, it was 1pm, and I was too comfy to move. It took another half an hour to convince myself to get out of bed, and 15 minutes more to be able to have a conversation. I really don't want do do this anytime soon (too bad I have yet to cross off the "Pull an all-nighter" item).
Needless to say, "Sleep until noon" is crossed and double-crossed. For everyone else who might have this on their list, try to sleep until noon because you want to, not because you need to - it's much more fun that way.Next time, I'll follow that advice too.
